THE FORMATION OF CANCER CELLS IN OUR BODY
Cancer cells develop in our bodies as a result of damage or mutation of our cellular DNA, which destroys the control mechanism of cell replication.
These abnormal cells are constantly created in our bodies during our lifetimes, but our bodies have various means to find and destroy these cells.
In Our bodies produce 20,000 to 30,000 cancer cells every day. However, they are usually contained and destroyed naturally by our immune system. When a cancer cell is formed, it splits and multiplies. Our white blood cells are alerted and start to attack the cancer cells. There is another defence system in our bodies called collagen that forms protective tissue walls. These prevent cancer cells from spreading to other parts of our body.
Cancer cells, however, are capable of producing large amounts of collagen-dissolving enzymes (CDE) that dissolve these protective walls and enable them to spread to other parts of our bodies. They then restart the process of multiplying and breaking down collagen walls in other parts of our body, leading to multiple cancerous tumours. This process is called metastasis.
